Ongoing Exams and Final Schedule
The UGC-NET December 2024 examination, conducted in a Computer-Based Test (CBT) format, began on January 3. The tests are being held to determine eligibility for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and the appointment of assistant professors. NTA clarified that the last scheduled exam on January 16 will proceed as planned.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin expressed approval of the decision to postpone the exam. In a post on social media platform 'X,' he remarked, "I had urged the Union Education Minister to reschedule the UGC-NET exams. This is a rightful decision. It’s concerning that major exams are frequently scheduled on Tamil cultural festival days, requiring intervention for rescheduling. Institutions must respect the country’s cultural diversity in their planning."
